NbSI joins London Climate Action Week
NbSI Director Nathalie Seddon and Technical and Artistic Director Cécile A.J. Girardin joined London Climate Action Week to highlight the need for investment in NbS and adherence to key guidelines to ensure effective NbS.
London Climate Action Week is an annual event, founded in 2019, that brings together world-leading climate professionals and communities across London and beyond to find practical solutions to climate change.
In a panel discussion on ‘Natural solutions for people, climate and nature: co-beneficial approaches’ Nathalie presented the NbSI Guidelines for high-quality, effective NbS. Also in the panel were professor Sir Bob Watson, former chair of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), Camila Zepeda Lizama, Director General of of Global Affairs in the Mexican government, and Simon Sharpe, Deputy Director of Policy Campaigns at COP26, in the UK government.

In a Climate Innovation Forum panel discussion on ‘The UK’s recovery efforts need to prioritise nature, but how can the restoration economy thrive through great public-private support and corporate involvement?’ Cécile joined the Climate Action stage to discuss climate finance, NbS, and the contributions of different interventions. Also in the panel were Leslie Swynghedauw, Vice President at MSCI ESG Research, Marine de Bazelaire, Group Advisor on Natural Capital at HSBC, and Mike Barry, Strategic Advisor.
