Seagrass Seeds of Recovery

Seagrass Seeds of Recovery
Seagrass is a globally significant carbon store, as well as habitat for fish and invertebrates, and important for stabilising sediment and protecting coastlines.

We are thrilled to be partaking in a new project – Seagrass Seeds of Recovery – which will set up the first seagrass nursery in the UK and initiate a seagrass restoration project on the east coast. Our role will be developing a carbon code for seagrass in the UK, which will allow carbon credits to fund seagrass restoration. We will be advertising a Post Doctoral position soon to work on this carbon code. Funding was secured through Ofwat’s Innovation Water Challenge, and we are delighted to be partnering with Affinity Water, Anglian Water, Project Seagrass, and a number of government agencies and universities on this exciting project.
