NbS Bangladesh Community of Practice

NbS Bangladesh Community of Practice
NbS Bangladesh acts as a hub of knowledge on nature-based solutions in Bangladesh

On World Environment Day, we are delighted to announce the launch of NbS Bangladesh. This is a community of researchers, practitioners and policymakers working to enhance understanding of the importance of nature-based solutions and to scale-up their implementation in Bangladesh. The website acts as a hub of knowledge on nature-based solutions in Bangladesh. We are working with the team, who are based in Dhaka, to create this growing resource, which will inform the implementation of nature-based solutions nationally, with a particular focus on stimulating sustainable economic development.

On the portal, you can find case studies of NbS in action, relevant recent news and events, and scientific evidence of the ecological and socioeconomic effectiveness of NbS relevant to Bangladesh. The evidence page displays studies from a systematic review of the peer-reviewed literature; although these studies come from around the globe, they all focus on NbS in habitat types that are found in Bangladesh. Over the coming months, the team will be collating and synthesizing rich in-country knowledge from practice and sharing this via the platform as a database as well as new case studies. If you work in Bangladesh and have climate change, development and/or nature conservation expertise and would like to join this programme, please get in touch with the project lead, tasfia.tasnim[at]icccad.net.
