IPBES-IPCC report on the interactions between biodiversity and climate change
For nature-based solutions to be up-scaled successfully, coordination between the climate and biodiversity research, policy and practice communities is key.

A new report has been published by IPBES and the IPCC, titled: Spotlighting the Interactions of the Science of Biodiversity and Climate Change. The report examines the synergies and trade-offs between biodiversity conservation and climate change adaptation and mitigation. It is the product of a four-day workshop held in December 2020 for 50 biodiversity and climate experts, and is the first ever collaboration between the intergovernmental bodies on biodiversity and climate change respectively. Such collaboration is crucial for both the climate and biodiversity crises to be addressed.

The workshop report, the scientific outcomes report, and the press release are all freely available to read. You can also watch a recording of the webinar launch.
