Friends of COP letter to PM

Rolling uk hills
The letter expressed a ‘shared and deep concern’ for the UK Government approach to international climate and environment issues.

Friends of COP, including NbSI Director Prof Nathalie Seddon, sent a letter to UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak urging him to deliver on the UK Government’s climate pledges, demanding an action agenda for climate and nature that is “good for people around the world – whether in terms of health benefits, climate security, or economic recovery – including for the future generations to whom we as decision-makers have a profound responsibility.”

The letter expressed a ‘shared and deep concern’ for the UK Government approach to international climate and environment issues. Signatories, which included Lord Stern, Kate Hampton, Paul Polman, and Laurence Tubiana, implored the PM to prioritise NDCs and the transition agenda. This includes robust delivery on promised international climate finance and positioning the UK as a leader within the global green economy.
