Climate Week NYC to accelerate climate action and assess progress ahead of COP26
Climate Week NYC is taking place September 20-26 2021 in New York and around the world. The yearly event returns with a focus on bringing together businesses, governments, and organizations to fulfill and increase commitments that accelerate climate action, and to assess progress ahead of COP26.
NbSI Director Professor Nathalie Seddon will be speaking in a session on Deforestation-Free Finance on 21 Sept, 14:00 BST. This high-level virtual panel event with climate, finance and science leaders will include discussion on the what, why and how of deforestation-free finance and the variety of tools available for making rapid progress towards zero-deforestation portfolios.
Hosted annually by international non-profit the Climate Group in conjunction with the United Nations, and in partnership with COP26 and the City of New York, Climate Week NYC is a global opportunity to come together to showcase climate action through events, forums, discussions, and workshops that bring together the expertise and influence of business and government leaders, the public and private sectors and communities and individuals.
Another highlight is The Hub Live – a series of forums, discussions, and workshops that bring together the expertise and influence of public and private sectors.
Held within the Climate Week 21-22 September in New York and virtually 23-25 September, The Nest Summit brings together businesses and consumers, leading companies, NGOs, government, academia, and the arts to spark climate action through education, engagement, and collaboration within a solutions’based climate conference.
